Colorado Blue Spruce — (Picea Pungens)
The Colorado blue spruce displays its unique, silvery blue-green color year-round and withstands the wind better than most spruce trees. It is a long-lived specimen, growing in a columnar, pyramidal shape up to a height of 75 feet.
It provides great privacy and windbreak when planted in a row, though it is relatively resistant to disease, it can be affected by Rhizosphaera needle cast, Cytospora cankers, and Lirula needle blight. It thrives best in hardiness zones 2-7 and prefers full sun.
